Livelihood Kits Distributed

From a worker in KS:

I am so happy to report that all of the farmers', carpenters' and mechanics' livelihood kits have been delivered, as well as all of the equipment for the fishermans' livelihood kits and we will check on the progress of the small boats which are being constructed by the local fishermen at KS.

On the day of distribution many of the farmers and their wives and families gathered under a tent that Pak Y had cleared for us, in the middle of the tent he had prepared 2 sets of each of the kits for each village that was to receiver distribution, he then called up 2 representatives from each village to formally receive the kits on behalf of all of the 1022 farmers and 74 mechanics from their respective villages, there were big broad smiles lit up the faces of these men and there were tears of joy from their wives.  Pak Y thanked Concern for Kids, he said “many organizations have made many big promises but today is the first day that each family have received something definite in their hands which will give them back their livelihoods, today you have given men back their dignity”  he went on to say “for many months I have been asking not just to give us fish but to give us a fishing rod, with these kits I am no longer afraid for the people of KS, because if the rice distribution stops they will now be able to feed their families themselves”.

Pak Y then asked me to say a few words so I was able to explain to the people “that we feel blessed to be able to deliver all of these kits to the people, however they are not actually from us, you see we are just like a big funnel and all of these kits were given to us so that we could give them to you and while many people had contributed to making the delivery of kits possible ultimately all thanks must go to God as every thing we receive is from God”, this was greeted with wholehearted agreement from the people, they all smiled and nodded, so I know they understood what I was saying.

Thank you so much to every one who contributed to this wonderful effort.
